The Senior Maintenance Technician performs skilled maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and improvement activities on both manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This position serves as a key maintenance resource supporting production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems, while also maintaining facility infrastructure such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC systems, doors, office areas, grounds, and general building systems. The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to maintenance requests, managing work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), coordinating service vendors, and supporting facility improvement projects. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Production teams to maximize equipment uptime, maintain facility functionality, and ensure a safe working environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems. Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Support the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment such as presses, powder coating systems, conveyors, material handling equipment, motors, pumps, compressors, and other production assets. Assist with equipment installation, modification, relocation, and commissioning projects. Develop, perform, and document preventive maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Maintain and manage work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including prioritization, documentation, tracking, and closure of maintenance activities. Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, contractors, and service providers for specialized repairs, warranty work, and equipment upgrades. Repair and maintain facility infrastructure including HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, electrical systems, doors, hardware, security systems, fire and life safety systems, fencing, gates, and general building components. Perform general facility maintenance activities including carpentry, painting, drywall repair, fixture replacement, furniture assembly, office modifications, and minor construction projects. Conduct facility and equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Maintain maintenance records, inspection logs, equipment histories, inventories, and purchasing documentation. Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Respond to maintenance requests, emergency repairs, and after-hours issues as necessary to support business operations. Provide technical support and maintenance expertise to Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Production teams. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA, state, and local regulatory requirements. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and perform all work in a safe manner. Build positive working relationships and demonstrate a high level of teamwork, professionalism, and customer service. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment. Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment. Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred. Experience supporting facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building maintenance preferred. Forklift certification preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems; ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime. Knowledge of facility maintenance practices including plumbing, lighting, HVAC systems, carpentry, painting, door hardware, and general building repairs. Proficiency in the safe use of power tools, hand tools, testing equipment, and maintenance-related machinery. Knowledge of OSHA workplace health and safety regulations and safe work practices. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, schematics, and operating procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer systems.
