POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aseptic Maintenance Mechanic to join our growing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing aseptic processing and packaging equipment to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production of sterile products. This role supports continuous operations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and all regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair aseptic processing, filling, and packaging equipment (e.g., fillers, sterilizers, pasteurizers, conveyors, pumps, valves). Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to established schedules to minimize downtime. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement effective corrective actions. Support aseptic start-ups, changeovers, CIP/SIP processes, and equipment validations. Ensure all work complies with
GMP, HACCP, FDA/USDA
(or applicable regulatory) requirements, and company SOPs. Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and inspections in CMMS or maintenance logs. Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and improve reliability. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and equipment upgrades. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures. Train and support operators on basic equipment operation and preventive care as needed.
EQUIPMENT/ COMPUTER SKILLS
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Window, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn new applications as required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
High school diploma or GED required; technical school or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in aseptic, food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in pumps, motors, gearboxes, and conveyors. Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLC basics, sensors, and instrumentation. Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and SOPs. Experience working in GMP-regulated environments. Experience with aseptic fillers and sterilization systems (e.g., Tetra Pak, SIG, Krones, or similar). CMMS experience. Welding, fabrication, or machining skills. PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar). Understanding of CIP/SIP systems and sterile processing principles. Performs various other related duties assigned by supervisor. Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with customers and co-workers. Have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently as well as working in a team. Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and produces accurate work product. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adhere to deadlines. Must be enthusiastic and proactive. Must have the ability to follow up. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with Maintenance Connection a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
