Job Description
We are hiring a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to support daily operations at a historic tourist mine in Breckenridge, Colorado . This role is primarily focused on maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment , with additional responsibilities in general maintenance and groundskeeping . This position is ideal for someone who enjoys varied work, working outdoors, and being part of a tourism-focused operation. Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance (Primary Duties) Inspect, service, and repair trucks, utility vehicles, sleighs, trailers, and equipment Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, fluids, brakes, belts, basic diagnostics) Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues efficiently and safely Ensure all equipment is safe and operational for guest use Maintain tools, workshop areas, and maintenance logs General Maintenance & Groundskeeping Groundskeeping and site upkeep General handyman work (minor carpentry, basic plumbing, repairs) Assist with seasonal setup, breakdown, and special projects Support day-to-day operational needs of the property Schedule & Availability Weekend availability is required Hours may vary based on season, weather, and visitor demand Early mornings, evenings, and overtime may be required during peak periods Qualifications Experience in mechanical maintenance, automotive repair, or fleet maintenance Comfortable working on vehicles and mechanical equipment General maintenance or handyman experience preferred Ability to work outdoors in mountain and winter conditions Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety Valid driver's license required Welding, small engine, or diesel experience is a plus but not required Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment Comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, and working in all weather conditions
