About the Role As a Field Service Technician for Commercial Openings, you will serve as a vital technical expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, and complex repair of industrial door systems and loading dock equipment. You will drive operational efficiency for our clients by ensuring all entryways and security hardware function at peak performance while maintaining strict safety standards. Responsibilities Execute precise installations and troubleshooting of commercial doors, dock levelers, and sophisticated access control hardware. Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures, including issues with springs, closers, and low-voltage systems to restore site security. Ensure all service outcomes align with current building codes and safety regulations to protect client assets. Deliver high-quality customer interactions by explaining technical solutions and providing cost-effective repair recommendations. Maintain detailed digital records of service history and equipment performance to support long-term maintenance planning. Perform rigorous quality inspections on all completed work to guarantee operational reliability and client satisfaction. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of hands-on experience in the commercial door or industrial hardware industry. Demonstrated proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and precision measurement equipment. Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and perform tasks in various physical positions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred Skills Professional certification in AAADM or similar industry-recognized credentials. Experience with welding or specialized metal fabrication. Strong background in low-voltage wiring and electronic access control integration. Proven ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
