In person Job Summary Viron Rondo Osteria and VR Offices LLC are seeking a dependable, hands-on Grounds Maintenance Technician to help maintain the exterior appearance, safety, and overall condition of our restaurant and commercial office properties in Cheshire, CT. This position is primarily focused on grounds maintenance, landscaping, exterior property care, snow removal, and curb appeal . The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping properties clean, organized, attractive, and well-maintained at all times. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintain the exterior appearance of the restaurant and office properties Inspect grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, patios, outdoor dining areas, and landscaped areas Keep all exterior areas clean, organized, and free of debris Perform lawn care, trimming, edging, pruning, planting, watering, mulching, and seasonal cleanup Maintain flower beds, planters, shrubs, trees, grass areas, and outdoor seating areas Monitor irrigation, watering needs, drainage issues, and overall landscape condition Oversee landscaping crews and outside vendors to ensure work is completed properly and to a high standard Assist with snow removal, sidewalk clearing, sanding, and salting during winter weather events Help maintain safe walkways, entrances, drive lanes, and parking areas during snow and ice conditions Report property damage, safety concerns, lighting issues, drainage problems, and needed repairs Assist with exterior repairs, light painting, power washing, trash pickup, and general property upkeep Maintain patios, signage areas, building entrances, and common exterior areas Coordinate with restaurant management, office tenants, cleaning crews, and outside contractors as needed Support special projects and property improvements Perform light interior maintenance when needed, including minor repairs, filter changes, and general handyman tasks Qualifications Grounds maintenance, landscaping, property care, or facilities experience preferred Strong attention to detail and pride in keeping properties clean and attractive Landscaping and seasonal cleanup experience preferred Snow removal, salting, and sanding experience preferred Ability to operate landscaping equipment, small machinery, and basic hand tools Commercial property, restaurant, or office building experience is a plus Ability to work independently and complete tasks without constant supervision Dependable, punctual, and able to respond during snow events when needed Good communication skills Ability to identify issues before they become problems Valid driver's license required Own tools preferred but not required Preferred Skills Lawn care and landscape maintenance Pruning, trimming, mulching, planting, and seasonal cleanup Snowplowing and sidewalk snow removal Basic irrigation knowledge Power washing Light exterior repairs Basic handyman skills Ability to operate commercial equipment preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vacation pay Parking Shift meals Schedule Full-time Monday to Friday Weekend availability as needed Must be available during snow events About Us Viron Rondo Osteria is a well-known restaurant located at 1721 Highland Avenue in Cheshire, CT, offering indoor dining, outdoor dining, private events, and beautifully maintained exterior spaces.
