This role is responsible for maintaining equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and emergency repairs. The ideal candidate will also collaborate with engineering teams to support equipment improvements, process optimization, validations, and overall production efficiency. ... Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using technical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to restore production Follow strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain a safe, clean work environment Support engineering teams with equipment installations, qualifications, validations, and process improvements Monitor equipment and process performance to identify opportunities for reducing scrap, improving yield, and increasing efficiency Operate and support fiber and suture production equipment as needed, including in-process quality checks Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance logs, SOPs, work instructions, and GMP/ISO-compliant records Assist with facility maintenance tasks as required (interior and exterior upkeep) Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and other regulated manufacturing standards Working hours:Various Shifts Available Skills:
Experience in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 13485, GMP, or AS9100) Basic PLC troubleshooting experience Background in extrusion, textiles, polymer processing, or similar manufacturing processes Machining, fabrication, or welding experience Experience with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS software Technical school or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electronics, or mechatronicsEducation:
Bachelors Experience:
1-4 yearsQualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent experience) Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments Understanding of safety procedures, especially Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows) Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed Spherion CT, The Top-Rated Staffing Agency in Your Area!
