This is a hands-on, first-shift position supporting production equipment used for compressed candy tablets, blister packaging, wrapping systems, and poly bag packaging. This is not a building handyman role. This is not an entry-level maintenance helper role. The right candidate must already have strong experience of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and will be expected to support equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and help keep production running safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for: Troubleshooting and repairing industrial production and packaging equipment. Supporting equipment used in candy/tablet production, including tablet presses and related processing equipment. Maintaining and repairing packaging equipment such as blister machines, wrappers, conveyors, sealers, and poly bag systems. Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues. Reading and using electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals. Troubleshooting sensors, motors, VFDs, photo-eyes, switches, guards, controls, and machine faults. Supporting preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability. Performing machine adjustments, changeover support, inspections, lubrication, and component replacement. Working closely with production operators, supervisors, quality, and maintenance leadership. Communicating clearly when equipment issues require escalation, parts, vendor support, or additional troubleshooting. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area in a food industry environment Documenting completed work, findings, repairs, and follow-up actions. Supporting facility-related maintenance when needed, including basic electrical, lighting, compressed air, HVAC, and general infrastructure support. Performing other maintenance duties as assigned. Must-Have Experience. Please read carefully before applying To be considered for this role, candidates must have real industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Applicants without this background will not be considered. Qualified candidates must have experience with most of the following: Industrial production equipment. Automated packaging equipment. Mechanical troubleshooting. Electrical troubleshooting. Pneumatics. Sensors and machine controls. Motors, drives, belts, chains, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and actuators. Reading schematics and technical manuals. Preventive maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Working safely around moving equipment, guarded machinery, lockout/tagout, and production lines. Experience in blister packaging, food manufacturing equipment, candy production, pharmaceutical-style compression equipment, or high-speed packaging equipment is strongly preferred. Candidates Who Are Not a Fit This position is not a fit for candidates whose experience is limited to: Apartment maintenance, General building maintenance only, Janitorial or custodial work, Basic handyman work, Residential electrical or plumbing only, Entry-level candidates with no manufacturing equipment experience, Candidates who have not worked around industrial production machinery. Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment. Strong safety mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team. Good communication skills with production and maintenance leadership. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on industrial maintenance role. The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for most of the shift. Bend, stoop, twist, squat, kneel, climb, and reach as needed. Use hand tools and power tools. Lift and carry parts, tools, and materials. Work around heat, dust, noise, compressed air, moving machinery, and production equipment. Follow all safety, food safety, lockout/tagout, and plant procedures.
