Job Title:
Maintenance Technician (Lead-Level) Job Description This role supports the distribution center by reducing downtime on the machines. Candidate will be required to work in a large distribution center so being on your feet and ability to walk 10K steps a shift will be required. The ideal person will be mechanically inclined to perform basic troubleshooting. These skills will be taught on site, but having the mechanical and electrical basic knowledge on the front end will help with developing into this role. This is an entry level maintenance technician role working on high speed automation systems. Responsibilities Recommend and assist in jams of the automation system, conveyors and bots. Will be trouble shooting mechanical, electrical and power systems for the entire automation system. Working with other technicians to troubleshoot taking a diagnostic approach, and best-practice work methods. Implement and uphold safety programs, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards and promoting a strong safety culture. Conduct regular walk-throughs of the facility to seek trouble areas of the automation systems. Communicate essential information to the maintenance team and enforce facility policies and guidelines consistently and fairly. Recommend methods of operational improvement within the maintenance function, including enhancements to equipment, systems, practices, and processes. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED. At least 6 months of experience in a maintenance. Other similar industries that are transferrable would be a Mechanic from the automotive industry. Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician with equipment repair, equipment maintenance, and power systems or in the automotive or transportation industry. Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including second shift and weekend schedules as required. Strong understanding of electrical systems and safe work practices in an industrial or facility environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience participating in or leading safety initiatives and programs within a maintenance or operations setting. Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks and projects while minimizing equipment downtime. Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information and policy guidelines to team members. Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend process improvements related to equipment, systems, and maintenance practices. Comfort working with hands-on technical tasks. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a distribution facility that relies on well-maintained equipment, machinery, electrical and power systems, and building infrastructure. The work involves regular movement throughout the facility and grounds to inspect equipment, monitor work, and ensure safe and efficient operations, in an environment that emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to established procedures Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Windsor Locks, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
