Job Description

Position Type :
Full Time- at least 40 hours every week, occasional overtime

Position Details:
Maintain Fins Up Beach Club water systems and water quality to ensure the safety and well-being of guests enjoying our water amenities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to pumps, motors, chemical feed and heating systems maintenance, inspections, cleanliness and inventory of safety supplies and controls.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining all bodies of water, pool deck cleanliness, cabana upkeep, and pool furniture repairs and cleaning.
  • Ensure all water quality requirements are met including, but not limited to, testing water, recording test results, and addition of chemicals
  • Backwashing, vacuuming pools, cleaning tiles and pressure washing
  • Completing daily, weekly, and monthly checklists
  • Inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Oversee and assist in maintaining the facilities as related to orderliness, cleanliness, and safety
  • Ensure that appropriate records are kept and that the preparation of local, state, and federal reports, including all safety checks and reports, are timely and accurate
  • Implement and monitor opening and closing procedures to comply with safety and cleanliness requirements
  • Inspect equipment including mechanical operations and leisure areas; to maintain and uphold quality standards
  • Coordinates and oversees all vendor work being done to ensure completion of work as expected and manages any scheduling requirements for vendor work to be completed
  • Understand and apply all policies, rules and regulations consistently
  • Project and maintain positive relations/interactions with guest and employees
  • Comply with state and county inspections to assure the resort is compliant with all rules and regulations
  • Provide training to new employees
  • Maintain a safe environment for all guests and staff
  • Reporting and recording actions to Pool Tech Manager and Facilities Director
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and training programs as required
  • Various projects assigned by management
Knowledge/Skills:
Thorough knowledge of commercial pool operations, including the following certifications:
  • Certified Pool Operator Certification and/or Aquatic Facility Operator
  • Thorough knowledge of aquatic facilities, equipment and services.
  • Must be f luent in oral and written English
  • Requires knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and public
  • Ability to interpret, apply and explain applicable rules and regulations
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to lif t, push, pull and carry aquatic or other equipment on a daily basis; 20-40 lbs and sometimes items up to 100 pounds
  • Mobility - 95% of shif t covering aquatic facilities in the water resort. May require quick, sudden movements both in and out of water at depths of up to f ive feet
  • Swimming - Able to swim and general comfort in and around water attractions
  • Climbing stairs, including water resort attractions
  • Working outside in all seasons and elements.
Education/Formal Training:
High School diploma or equivalent Certified Pool Operator Certification /
Aquatic Facility Operator AED/CPR/First Aid Certified Experience:
One year of commercial swimming pool experience.
