Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team of Public Housing apartments at our Graceville and Cottondale, FL locations . As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical and technical skills.
Duties include:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, and assisting tenants with paperwork
  • Completing and submitting weekly and monthly paperwork in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC components, and outdoor power equipment parts as needed
  • Read and interpret tenant leases, inspection results, operation manuals, and occasional blueprints
  • Utilize tablet based maintenance work orders and document maintenance activities
  • Perform facilities maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, painting, cleaning, and light carpentry
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical, and some knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Experience with using tablets, smartphones, printers
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot routine household repair issues
  • Ability to work alone and be self-motivated
  • Ability to show professionalism and courtesy with upset tenants
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
