Job Description

Job Title:
Maintenance Technician (Engineering Department)
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the hotel's facilities and equipment. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are well-maintained and meet brand standards, contributing to a safe and comfortable guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests (e.g., HVAC issues, plumbing, electrical concerns) Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, systems, and building components Troubleshoot and repair systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances Maintain proper records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs Assist with room inspections to ensure readiness and quality standards Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and safe Identify and report major repair needs or safety hazards to management Support renovation projects and special assignments as needed Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
Qualifications:
Previous maintenance or engineering experience preferred (hotel experience a plus) Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Good communication and customer service skills Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when needed
Work Environment:
Indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Exposure to mechanical equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals
Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
