Job Summary:
The Marina Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all marina facilities, including docks, piers, and associated equipment. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing operation of the marina, providing a superior experience for guests and boat owners. The ideal candidate will have experience in marina maintenance or a related field and a strong understanding of the marine environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and repair work on docks, piers, and other marina structures.

Inspect and maintain all marina equipment, including electrical systems, lighting, water lines, and fire suppression systems.

Assist in the upkeep of the marina grounds, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.

Conduct routine inspections of marina facilities to identify any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.

Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs as needed.

Assist with the installation and removal of boat lifts, moorings, and other marine hardware.

Operate marina equipment, such as forklifts and utility vehicles, safely and efficiently.

Assist in emergency response situations, including oil spill containment, fire control, and vessel recovery.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and materials used.

Communicate effectively with the Marina Manager regarding the status of ongoing projects and any urgent repair needs.

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties.

Greet and assist guests arriving at the dock, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.

Safely and efficiently assist with boat docking and securing.

Provide information on boat rentals, tours, and other water-based activities.

Facilitate the rental process, including paperwork and safety briefings.

Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the dock area.

Monitor and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

Enforce safety guidelines and regulations on the dock.

Assist in emergency situations and coordinate with appropriate personnel.

Respond to guest inquiries and provide information about resort amenities.

Enhance the overall guest experience through friendly and helpful interactions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in a related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in marina maintenance or a similar role.

Strong knowledge of marina operations and marine maintenance procedures.

Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills.

Ability to operate marina equipment and tools safely.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) frequently.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain and cold temperatures.

Ability to perform tasks that require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, jumping on and off boats and onto the dock as needed.

Must be able to stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods.

Ability to swim and work comfortably around water.

Visual acuity to inspect marina facilities and detect potential hazards.

Manual dexterity to handle tools, equipment, and small parts.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
