Oasis has a hands-on, outdoor job where every day is different. We've got a full-time, year-round opportunity for a Highway Maintenance Technician / Road Laborer in Ocala - full benefits included and $16/hr. to start! If you like working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a crew that keeps our roadways safe, this might be exactly what you've been looking for. Our teams cover major roadways throughout Marion and Sumter Counties along I-75, taking on all kinds of work, like:
Requirements:
Valid Florida driver's license due to travel High school diploma or G.E.D. Ability to get to and from the Ocala location Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; regularly carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to perform frequent bending, kneeling, climbing in and out of trucks, and walking on uneven terrain near traffic Employer conducts Drug Screening, Motor Vehicle Record Check, and Background Check Experience working in an outdoors setting for 1+ year Ability to work overtime when needed and participate in the mandatory on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergencies Employer has additional requirements
Responsibilities:
Trimming and cutting down trees Weed eating, blowing, and general groundskeeping Operating skid steers and mini excavators Grinding sidewalks Pressure washing Fixing fences and repairing guardrails Replacing road signs (speed limits, exit ramps, etc.) Filling potholes and rebuilding slopes/ditches Setting up lane closures with cones to keep traffic flowing safely Litter, debris, and roadkill clean-up
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Regular overtime, especially during storm season Mandatory on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergencies, which include lane closures for car accidents •A company truck is provided for use to and from work only when on the on-call schedule•
Salary:
$16.00 / hour,
