This hands-on role is responsible for performing a wide variety of renovation, maintenance, repair, and make-ready services for vacant apartment homes within our portfolio. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and experienced in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance. Key Responsibilities:
Apartment Renovations & Unit Turns Remove trash, debris, and obsolete materials before, during, and after renovation projects. Prepare and finish surfaces through sanding, patching, priming, sealing, and painting. Remove existing backsplash materials and prepare walls for new tile installation. Repair, replace, and install apartment components including: Cabinets and countertops Doors, trim, and hardware Appliances and lighting fixtures Plumbing, electrical, and mechanical fixtures Inspect completed apartment homes to ensure quality standards, proper operation, and move-in readiness. Complete punch-list items and correct deficiencies as needed. Perform additional renovation and maintenance projects as assigned. General Maintenance Service and repair carpentry, painting, plastering, HVAC systems, and minor electrical components. Troubleshoot maintenance issues and implement effective solutions. Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure timely completion of work orders and unit turnovers. Qualifications Experience in apartment maintenance, renovations, construction, or a related field preferred. Strong working knowledge of:
Carpentry Plumbing Painting and drywall repair Electrical systems HVAC systems General installation and repair work Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities. Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed for deadlines or emergencies. Valid driver's license required. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, and carrying materials. Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs, including up to four flights of stairs. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including temperatures above 90°F and below 32°F.
