Job Description
Description:
- Responsible for working with food manufacturing equipment and general plant maintenance.
- Must be familiar working with Multivac, Metal detectors, V-Mags, Automated Packaging equipment and conveyor belts.
- Ensure all regulations relating to OSHA Safety, security, GMP, sanitation, discipline, etc. are adhered to, and that breaches in policy are communicated to appropriate management
- Perform lock out/tag out certifications on all equipment and employees.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and maintained.
- Communicate standards and ensure compliance with company standards and procedures, quality standards, and
QA/HACCP
procedures.- Perform all required safety checks before plant start up and perform preventive maintenance checks.
- Perform planned services on supported equipment installed on Company sites;
- Investigate and proactively work to correct problems where machines are not performing at required levels;
- Perform machine services and rebuilds in site workshop as required;
- Provide technical phone support when attendance cannot be provided;
- Liaise with management on service-related matters within the site;
- Attend machine - specific training courses as directed;
- Comply with local safety guidelines and ensure risks are identified and controlled whilst working on site.
Qualifications:
- A current Electrician's License OR be a trade qualified Mechanic with a Restricted Electrical License;
- Experience in the food industry packaging or processing equipment is an advantage;
- Electronics skills and knowledge of PLC driven processes is mandatory;
- Advance knowledge of motor, servomotor and drive technology is a plus
- Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings to a component level;
- Proven customer service skills;
- Willingness to work weekends, travel at short notice and work flexible hours as required;
- Current Drivers License; and
- A strong work ethic and excellent communication skills in English & Spanish
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
