Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to maintain cleanliness and safety within our healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong janitorial and custodial experience, with expertise in floor care and environmental services. As a Floor Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring our facility remains hygienic, safe, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of floors using appropriate methods such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure a pristine environment. Clean air vents and ceiling sprinkler heads Clean resident showers Assist with moving heavy moving furniture objects as needed Some knowledge of basic maintenance Maintain cleanliness of all designated areas according to established protocols and safety standards. Conduct routine inspections of flooring surfaces to identify areas requiring repair or additional cleaning. Follow proper procedures for waste disposal and hazardous material handling in compliance with environmental services guidelines. Assist with general janitorial tasks such as dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and restocking supplies to support overall cleanliness efforts. Requirements Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles within healthcare, commercial cleaning, or environmental services settings. Knowledge of floor care techniques including carpet cleaning, buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during shifts. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in healthcare or long-term care facilities is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
