POSITION INFO

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for general and preventive maintenance work of machines, equipment building and plant facilities. Shift is A3, 7p to 7a.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for general maintenance work of mechanical equipment, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, quench conveyors, quench tanks, water leaks, etc. Preventive maintenance of facility equipment. Knowledge in the proper operation of welding equipment and cutting torch. Assists plant service specialist in mechanical and electrical work as required. Working knowledge of all plant utilities, locations, and color coding for servicing. Knowledge of OSHA standards which are required for proper installations and work for compliance of regulations. Utilize fall-arrest system to perform work at heights greater than 4 feet. Responsible for housekeeping of work area. Responsible for safety of oneself and others. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two years in maintenance field desired. Must maintain a good attendance record, have necessary tools, and strong ability/knowledge in at least one phase of maintenance work.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED Work-Ready Certificate a plus

TRAINING AND SKILLS

Mechanical and pneumatic knowledge Welding and cutting torch skills Some electrical knowledge desired.
