Job Description

Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment by performing a wide range of maintenance tasks. Duties Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment. Conduct repairs using welding techniques and interpret schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose and resolve automation or control system problems. Carry out residential painting projects to enhance property aesthetics and protect surfaces. Operate tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices to assess electrical circuits and components. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring safety standards and quality are upheld. Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant or resident concerns promptly and professionally. Lead small teams or coordinate with contractors during complex repairs or renovations. Follow safety protocols diligently while working with electrical systems, welding equipment, or at heights. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing, or related fields with hands-on mechanical and electrical skills. Strong knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting electrical circuits. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and understanding automation systems. Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to perform metal repairs safely and efficiently. Familiarity with residential painting techniques to improve property appearance. Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance instructions clearly in English. Competence in using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment. Supervising experience is preferred for leadership roles within maintenance teams. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward residents or clients. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. Knowledge of CMMS platforms for tracking work orders and maintenance history is advantageous.
