Weekly Position Overview We are seeking Automation Maintenance Technicians (Levels I and II) to support a highly automated distribution and fulfillment operation featuring advanced robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), conveyors, PLC-controlled equipment, and automated material handling systems. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing automated equipment and robotic systems to ensure maximum uptime, operational efficiency, and workplace safety. Technicians will work with advanced automation technologies while supporting preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Equipment Reliability Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated equipment and robotic systems. Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, damage, and potential equipment failures. Repair, replace, adjust, calibrate, and modify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system components. Support equipment reliability initiatives to maximize system uptime and operational efficiency. Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and facility shutdown projects. Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and system improvements. Automation & Robotics Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve complex electro-mechanical issues affecting automated systems. Troubleshoot robotics, conveyors, lifts, automated storage systems, and material handling equipment. Utilize electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes. Support robotic recovery operations and automated system restarts. Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, relays, actuators, encoders, and communication systems PLC & Controls Support Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated processes. Utilize HMIs, control systems, and diagnostic software to identify faults and restore operation. Support controls and engineering teams during equipment upgrades and optimization projects. Assist with startup, testing, and validation activities following repairs and modifications. Operations Support Monitor automated systems and support operational throughput goals. Respond quickly to equipment alarms, downtime events, and production-impacting issues. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth product flow and minimal disruption. Assist with operational support during peak production periods. Documentation & Continuous Improvement Complete work orders and maintenance documentation within the CMMS system. Accurately document repairs, inspections, labor hours, and parts usage. Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term corrective actions. Participate in continuous improvement programs focused on safety, reliability, quality, and efficiency. Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA, facility, customer, and company safety requirements. Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, fall protection, and electrical safety procedures. Wear required PPE and maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training initiatives. Additional Responsibilities Perform minor fabrication work including drilling, mounting hardware, sensor alignment, and equipment modifications. Assist with spare parts inventory management. Support special projects involving operations, engineering, and maintenance teams. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsAutomation Maintenance Technician I 1+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, warehouse, or automation experience. Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn advanced automation systems. Automation Maintenance Technician II 3+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial automation equipment. Experience supporting robotics, conveyors, material handling systems, ASRS, or automated equipment. Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Working knowledge of PLC systems and automation controls. Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field. Industrial Maintenance Certification. Mechatronics Certification. PLC Troubleshooting Certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. Robotics Maintenance Experience. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience. Distribution, fulfillment center, warehouse automation, or manufacturing experience. Physical Requirements Ability to work in automated warehouse and industrial environments. Ability to climb elevated automation structures and work at heights up to 45 feet. Ability to work in confined spaces and varying temperatures. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and perform physical maintenance activities throughout the workday. Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as operational needs require.
