We're looking for a reliable, careful, and trustworthy assistant to work alongside the owner on residential jobs. On the job training will be provided for any work that you are inexperienced with. This is not a role for someone who charges ahead — it's a role for someone who thinks before they act, protects the work environment, and takes direction well. If your instinct is to stop and ask before doing something you're unsure about, you'll fit right in. What You'll Do Assist with a variety of residential jobs including painting prep and finish work, drywall patching, mixing joint compound, caulking, trim work, sanding, exterior repairs, cleaning, and general maintenance tasks Work cooperatively with owner on multi-person tasks (i.e. lifting, holding up boards, fixtures, etc). Handle prep work independently while the lead works on the skilled portion of the job — for example, taping off floors and surfaces while finish work is being done nearby Protect surfaces, floors, and furnishings at all times — no shortcuts on prep Transport, organize, and handle tools and materials carefully Interact respectfully and professionally with homeowners on site Follow the established sequence for each job and check in before proceeding if anything is unclear What We're Looking For Hands-on experience with common handyman tasks, or a strong natural aptitude for working carefully with tools Methodical work habits — prep before you act, don't skip steps, and don't improvise without asking Someone who treats a customer's home with the same care they'd want shown in their own Ability to work independently on an assigned task without constant supervision, while knowing when to stop and ask Dependable, punctual, and takes pride in clean, careful work Professional Conduct — Non-Negotiable Professional appearance and grooming on all job sites Respectful, courteous communication with customers at all times Drug and alcohol-free workplace policy strictly enforced You represent DoubleGate Handyman every time you walk through a customer's door Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Must pass a background check Why Work With Us $30/hr — above market rate Flexible scheduling — part-time or full-time depending on availability Learn from a creative and experienced professional across a wide variety of residential jobs Work in well-kept, respectful homes To apply, send a brief message about your experience and what kind of work you've done.
