Maintenance Technician

Duties and responsibilities: 1.

• Builds or assembles racks, shelves, tables, and other equipment as necessary. Installs air lines, electrical outlets and lights as needed. Makes prototypes for engineering on the manual machines. Reworks products on the manual machines to the revision level. Machines samples for QA and machines/modifies fixtures for assembly. 2.
• Troubleshoots and makes mechanical and electrical repairs in machining and assembly on fixtures.

Familiar with and able to operate a variety of equipment and machines including saws drill presses and various hand and power tools to perform repair and maintenance work. Follows OSHA approved guidelines for Lockout/Tagout of machines being repaired. Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications etc. Conducts safety checks throughout the facility. 3.

• Orders, maintains, and organizes tools, spare parts and equipment as required for machining repair and plant operations. Operates trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies. 4.
• Schedule and direct contractors for building or machining repairs.

Provide training, work direction and guidance to outside technicians and ROSS machinists while performing work.

Job Requirements Education:

High school graduate; technical degree preferred in electro/mechanical or machine technology.

Experience:

1-2 years. Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Must be able to use manuals, assembly drawings and diagnostics to repair equipment.
• Use electrical test equipment.
• Be capable of welding steel with electric and acetylene.
• Be able to perform machine operations on lathe and vertical mill.
• Have basic carpentry and plumbing skills.
