Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

OBJECTIVE

Responsible for repairing and maintaining facility equipment and machinery, insuring that it functions properly so that the organization can meet business demands. Consistently adhere to and model all safety requirements. Essential Functions A) Quickly respond to and resolve equipment and machinery breakdowns and emergencies. Keep management informed of downtime B) Install and remove equipment, machinery and products. Change blades, saws, conveyor belts. C) Fabricate repairs and adjustments to existing equipment and parts for new equipment D)

Forklifts:

perform oil & filter changes, brakes inspection, fluid & repair, general maintenance. Drive forklift to deliver/remove materials from work site E) Perform welding, torch and plasma cutting F) Perform preventive maintenance, including but not limited to: lubricating machines G) Insure compliance with Lock Out Tag Out and all other safety and hazardous materials handling procedures H) Complete department paperwork, including but not limited to OSHA records, work orders, parts and equipment orders, safety investigations and documents I) Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 40 pounds. Must be able to stand, climb, squat and crawl for minimum 8 hours per day. Requires overhead reaching and working. Other Duties A) Keep work areas clean, organized and free of hazards B) Partner with others to resolve issues, improve plant efficiency and cost effectiveness Reporting Relationship A) Reports to Plant manager Minimum Qualifications A) Requires constant lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 40 lbs. B) Requires constant kneeling, squatting, walking, standing and overhead work. C) High School Diploma or equivalent D) Must know or possess the ability to learn welding, electrical work E) Prior experience using hand and powered tools F) Must achieve and maintain forklift certification G) Ability to be trained to perform all essential functions and other duties H) Excellent communication skills I) Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization Preferred Qualifications A) Two (2) years experience working in maintenance or related position B) Prior experience in paper manufacturing C)
