Job Description

Job Title:
Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technician 1st Shift $30-$33 per hour Job Description The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems at a manufacturing facility in Rome, GA. This role ensures safe and reliable plant operations through maintenance of electrical systems, pumps, and basic plumbing. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair motors, wiring, control panels, and production equipment. Maintain and repair pumps, seals, bearings, and related components. Perform basic plumbing work including pipe and valve repairs. Support preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems. Diagnose equipment issues and restore safe operation quickly. Follow NEC standards, plant safety rules, and chemical-handling protocols. Document work orders and coordinate repairs with production teams. Troubleshoot electro-mechanical breakdowns within the facility. Work with vendors to acquire maintenance equipment. Ensure quick and efficient response to maintenance calls. Be on-call, with a minimum of 4 hours' pay if called in. Essential Skills Industrial electrical maintenance experience. Knowledge of pumps and fluid-handling systems. Ability to perform basic plumbing tasks. Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams. Strong troubleshooting skills and safety awareness. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in chemical or process manufacturing. Familiarity with VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation. CMMS or preventive-maintenance experience. Experience with drives, 480 volt motors, contactors, and using a multi-meter. Mechanical experience with hydraulics and pneumatics. Why Work Here? The work environment can be physically demanding with exposure to varying temperatures depending on external conditions. Employees are required to adhere to safety protocols and dress codes appropriate for a chemical-manufacturing facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rome, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
