Role Overview The Facilities Technician I provides skilled maintenance support to ensure the structural integrity, safety, and functionality of buildings, infrastructure, equipment, and grounds. This role independently reads and interprets blueprints and technical documentation to determine job requirements, procedures, and methods. The position requires strong craftsmanship, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and ownership of the tools and skills necessary to complete assigned work efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities Execute work requests through the department work order system and document completed actions clearly Support Senior Facilities Technicians on complex installations and repairs Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and high lifts Perform drywall, stucco, painting, and minor cosmetic repairs Conduct basic carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs Read and interpret building drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation Repair windows, doors, locks, cabinets, and related hardware Perform furniture moves and assist with setup and breakdown for meetings and events Disassemble, relocate, and assemble modular furniture systems Maintain HVAC systems, compressors, and other building systems Maintain building grounds, fences, and gates Assist with training, certification, and skill development efforts Comply with all safety and environmental policies and report unsafe conditions Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of integrity Perform other duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Minimum five (5) years of related facilities maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, blueprints, and schematics Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with employees and management Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills Basic computer proficiency including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and ERP-related systems Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally Why You Should Apply Excellent Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision & 401K Matching) Excellent development programs and advancement opportunities Tuition reimbursement and on-the-job training Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays Committed to quality products and services Great working environment and culture Employee Appreciation Programs and Events Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer committed to workforce diversity.
