Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our dynamic cleaning and maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the Nursing Home. Your expertise in floor care, carpet cleaning, buffing, and janitorial services will ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a clean, welcoming environment while honing your skills in environmental services and custodial work. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of floors using appropriate methods such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain a pristine appearance. Conduct carpet cleaning procedures including vacuuming, deep cleaning, and stain removal to ensure carpets are fresh and well-maintained. Operate floor care equipment like buffers, polishers, and extractors safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, lobbies, hallways, and other common areas by trash removal, disinfecting surfaces, and restocking supplies. Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or damage. Assist with environmental services tasks such as waste disposal and minor maintenance to support overall facility upkeep. Document completed tasks accurately in logs or reports and communicate any maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in institutional settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning methods. Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, extractors, vacuums, and floor polishers confidently. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety standards. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout shifts. Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting heavy equipment or supplies during cleaning routines. Relevant certifications in environmental services or commercial cleaning are a plus but not required. Join us in creating clean environments that inspire confidence!
