Maintenance Technician (Level III)
Job Summary:
The Level III Maintenance Technicians have a senior-level role responsible for performing advanced maintenance tasks and providing leadership to junior technicians. This position includes training, mentoring, and supervising team members while ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include preventative, corrective, emergency, and routine maintenance on rides, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal safety and performance.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct daily pre-opening inspections of all rides and equipment. Perform inspections, preventative and predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting for rides, machinery, and facilities. Respond promptly to unplanned or emergency maintenance issues. Maintain accurate and complete inspection records (daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and as required). Complete, sign, and properly store all inspection documentation per company retention policies. Train, guide, and supervise Maintenance Technicians I and II. Schedule maintenance tasks and assign personnel to meet operational goals. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company procedures and safety standards. Provide tools required for the job (up to 1 ¼"). Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications (EducationExperience): High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Maintenance Technician II or equivalent. Must obtain or possess AIMS or NAARSO Maintenance Technician II certification (or equivalent). Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques. Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues effectively. Leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor team members. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to operate equipment used on park property. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Prior maintenance and supervisory experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly; heavier lifting may be required occasionally. Frequent bending, twisting, stretching, stooping, and overhead reaching. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on uneven and hard surfaces. Comfortable working at heights up to 140 feet and in potentially hazardous conditions. Ability to work extended hours, including shifts up to 18 hours when necessary. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures. Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods. Exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents. Requires physical agility and manual dexterity.
Safety Requirements:
Promote and adhere to safe work practices at all times. Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE). Comply with all company, state, and federal safety regulations.
