Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Handyman Assistant to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will support skilled technicians and supervisors in performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks across residential and commercial properties. Your energetic approach and willingness to learn will help ensure our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Responsibilities Assist with general repairs including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting to maintain property standards. Support the installation and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in facility automation systems. Participate in welding tasks and mechanical repairs using appropriate tools and safety procedures. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals to aid in maintenance activities. Conduct routine facilities maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor construction projects. Operate testing equipment like ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately. Maintain accurate records of work performed using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Skills Basic electrical experience with an understanding of schematics and troubleshooting techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to facility systems, manufacturing equipment, or residential structures. Hands-on experience with welding, painting, or other trades is a plus. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical testing tools like ohmmeters. Strong communication skills in English for effective teamwork and customer service interactions. Supervising or leadership experience is advantageous for supporting team coordination. Ability to read technical schematics and follow detailed instructions accurately. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices within manufacturing or residential environments.
