Job Description
Performs a wide range of routine and preventative maintenance for all Facilities Electro/Mechanical Systems including, but not limited to the following: plumbing, gas, water, compressed air, hydraulic, boiler/hot water, electrical, and HVAC. Perform the duties associated with basic construction activities. Essential Job Functions
- Perform basic electrical repairs; assist with equipment installations
- Perform basic plumbing repair/assembly: pipes & fittings for heat, water, sewer, gas & compressed air systems, open clogged drains
- Perform basic carpentry work in altering, repairing, and maintaining buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, wood fixtures, & furniture
- Repair/replace hydraulic hoses, pumps, etc.
- Maintain tools and machinery in good working condition
- Perform minor repairs to air conditioning system
- Maintain outside grounds: including lawns, shrubbery, walkways, parking areas
- Assist with snow removal and operation of snow removal equipment
- Acquire building materials/supplies from outside vendors/suppliers
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance testing, record keeping, & checks
- Exchange information with fellow workers and supervisors
- Work in a team environment with other Maintenance Technicians, employees, and outside contractors
- Be willing and able, at assigned times, to provide emergency maintenance support during weekends and after hours
- Maintain a high and consistent quality of work
- Perform other duties as may be assigned Education and/or Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Possess electrical and/or mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and understand diagrams, drawings, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Interpret building and equipment schematics and drawings
- Demonstrate skills and abilities in use of hand tools, power tools and stationary tools. i.e. hand saw, table saw, drill press, thread cutting machine, sander, bandsaw, radial arm saw, metal mill, etc.
- Ability to understand and apply workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime, as requested. Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment, not climate controlled.
- Tasks involve standing or walking up to 100 percent of work time.
- Safety glasses required at all times and appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) where designated.
