Job Description

Position Title:
Maintenance Technician Reports To:
Maintenance Supervisor Job description: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance in the repair of buildings, facilities and equipment. Must be able to fix and maintain mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines. Tasks include plumbing work, painting, flooring repair and upkeep, electrical repairs and heating and air conditioning system maintenance as well as landscaping work, including mowing and snow removal. Must be able to maintain records and schedule preventative and routine maintenance to properties.
Qualifications:
Must be able to lift 75lbs. Ability to work independently. Valid drivers license with clean driving record.
Experience:
2-3 years working as a Maintenance Tech in a residential community setting or as a Maintenance Tech for a Property Management company. Preferred experience with full flips/remodels of properties, as well as general routine maintenance. The individual must possess the ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with others and have basic computer skills. Person should be able to understand the concepts of trauma informed care, social work ethics and office etiquette. Individual must also be capable of preserving the confidentiality of employee and participant records. Humility Homes and Services, Inc. Responsibilities:
1. Commitment to Ethical and Effective Services Know and implement HHSI's mission, policies, and procedures; and abide by all city, state, and federal laws, and regulations. Maintain trainings in suicide risk assessment, mandatory child and dependent adult abuse and neglect reporting, crisis intervention, and civil rights, housing discrimination, harm reduction, trauma informed care and housing first practices. Regularly address the agency's needs and make course corrections when necessary. Adhere to HHSI's agency values in all aspects of work 2.
Preventative Maintenance:
Assist the Property Manager on keeping an up to date deferred maintenance schedule Performs minor and routine maintenance on all equipment and notifies Property Manager when equipment needs replaced Instills a "safety first" attitude for all staff 3.
General Maintenance:
Diagnoses and either performs or schedules contractors, with the approval of Property Manager, to perform on a daily basis minor and routine maintenance/repair involving the following: Electrical and plumbing (including water lines), A/C and heating systems, appliances, stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, tile, carpet, flooring, roofing, gutters, fasteners, interior/exterior lights, ceiling fans, gas fixtures and appliances (where applicable), shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, boiler, gas and electric, door locks, controlled access systems (where applicable), ceiling leaks, walls, including painting and repairs, windows, yard work, mowing, weed eating, trimming, hedging, snow removal, ice removal, and any other items that might arise that Property Manager determines is maintenance related. Pick-ups and Deliveries Pick up donations as requested, pick up supplies for maintenance/ renovation work items purchased for HHSI transport items to, from and among sites, deliver furniture to new participants, replace furniture for participants as needed with approval of Property Manager, discard old furniture into dumpster or for city bulk pick up. 4.
Maintain Health and Fire Codes:
Record temperatures in refrigerators Check fire panel for errors Clean out fire sensors Change furnace filters Inspect fire extinguishers 5.
Documentation:
Completes incident reports. Files them in the appropriate locations. Communicates via email to the Safety Officer or Shelter Supervisor when critical incidents occur. Maintains mileage log for maintenance truck when appropriate Checks and responds to emails, text messages and phone calls from Property Manager and other staff. 6.
Other Duties:
Assists the Shelter Supervisor and Volunteer Coordinator with volunteer projects Coordinates with the Lead Monitor on scheduling pest control for the shelter facility Maintain a clean and organized work space Regular attendance required Performs other duties, as needed
Job Type:
Full-time 36 hours weekly, overtime, nights and weekends as necessary.

$16.45-$22.64 per hour Must have valid Driver's License at hire
