Job Description

Commercial Door and Frame Installer Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Commercial Door Installer to install, repair, and maintain hollow metal doors and frames, as well as commercial wood doors, on new construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate has experience working in commercial environments such as schools, hospitals, offices, and retail spaces and understands proper installation techniques to ensure doors operate safely, securely, and in compliance with project specifications. Key Responsibilities Install hollow metal doors and door frames, commercial wood doors, and associated hardware according to plans and specifications. Hang and align commercial doors to ensure proper fit, swing, and operation. Install and adjust door hardware including hinges, closers, panic devices, locksets, thresholds, and weather stripping. Read and interpret construction drawings, door schedules, and specifications. Work on new construction projects as well as renovation and retrofit installations. Ensure doors meet fire rating, ADA, and building code requirements where applicable. Measure openings and verify frame and door sizes before installation. Troubleshoot installation issues and make field modifications when necessary. Maintain clean and safe job sites while following company and OSHA safety standards. Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades. Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining professionalism on job sites, communicating effectively with customers, contractors, and internal project teams, and ensuring installations are completed to the highest standards. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 2+ years experience installing commercial doors and frames (hollow metal and wood preferred). Experience with commercial door hardware installation. Ability to read blueprints and door schedules. Strong understanding of door alignment, frame installation, and hardware adjustments. Ability to use standard carpentry and installation tools. Ability to lift 150+ lbs with assistance and work on ladders or lifts when needed. Ability to operate in outdoor and indoor work environments. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass a background check and drug screen upon offer of employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fire-rated door assemblies. Familiarity with ADA compliance requirements. Experience providing consistent 5-star customer service. Experience with access control or automatic doors (a plus). OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Work Environment Commercial construction sites including schools, hospitals, offices, and industrial buildings. Mix of new construction and renovation work. Daily travel between job sites is required. Some overnight travel may be required. Indoor and outdoor work
