Help Create Exceptional Guest Experiences Through Safe, Reliable Operations At the Department of Administrative Services, the work you do behind the scenes directly shapes experiences for thousands of visitors, employees, and communities across Iowa. Honey Creek Resort offers guests a place to relax, connect, and enjoy Iowa's natural beauty and this role helps ensure every stay is safe, comfortable, and memorable. We are seeking a Facility Maintenance & Operations Coordinator to oversee the maintenance, repair, and day-to-day operation of Honey Creek Resort facilities and grounds. This role combines facilities management, preventative maintenance planning, safety oversight, and guest service to keep resort operations running smoothly. What You'll Do Lead Resort Maintenance & Operations Serve as the primary point of coordination for maintenance and operational needs across resort facilities, including the lodge, cottages, RV park, and grounds. Coordinate janitorial services, utility operations, grounds maintenance, and seasonal upkeep activities. Oversee HVAC systems and related building operations to ensure safe and efficient performance. Support utility connections and operational needs for RV park guests. Deliver an Exceptional Guest Experience Track and respond to guest-reported maintenance concerns and operational issues. Coordinate same-day resolution of issues whenever possible to maintaining positive guest experience. Partner across teams to proactively identify and address facility concerns before they impact visitors. Maintain Resort Assets & Preventative Programs Develop and manage weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance schedules. Coordinate deep-cleaning programs for lodging and guest accommodations. Monitor and manage lifecycle replacement schedules for resort assets including: Furniture and furnishings Linens and guest-use items Rental equipment and operational inventory Monitor pest concerns and coordinate treatment and mitigation services as needed. Support Safety & Compliance Conduct annual facility and safety inspections. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to DAS. Coordinate pre-season health and safety reviews aligned with OSHA standards. Identify risks and track corrective actions through completion. Help ensure resort operations meet safety expectations and regulatory requirements. What We're Looking For Experience coordinating facility operations, maintenance, or building systems Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with preventative maintenance planning and asset management Strong customer service and communication skills Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence Physical Requirements This position requires routine movement and physical activity associated with facility maintenance and operational support duties.
Candidates should be able to:
Routine Activities Stand, walk, and remain mobile throughout the workday Bend, crouch, kneel, and climb as needed Use fine motor skills and hand coordination for tools, equipment, and operational tasks Perform frequent reaching, twisting, and movement of the upper body and neck Lifting & Material Handling Frequently lift and move materials up to 20-40 pounds Occasionally lift and move items up to 100 pounds Push or pull equipment and materials over varying distances Carry supplies and equipment across resort facilities and grounds Work Environment Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Perform work in non-traditional positions, including reaching overhead and working around or beneath equipment when necessary Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
