This entry-level position is responsible for assisting with the fabrication, preparation, transportation, and installation of various countertop materials, including quartz, granite, laminate, solid surface, and other specialty products. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, willing to learn, able to work safely with tools and equipment, and comfortable performing physically demanding work in both shop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Shop Work Assist in the fabrication and preparation of countertop materials for installation. Operate CNC machinery and other fabrication equipment after receiving appropriate training. Read and interpret work orders, drawings, templates, and specifications. Measure, cut, polish, and prepare countertop materials to required dimensions and quality standards. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of shop equipment and work areas. Load, unload, and organize materials within the production facility. Inspect materials for quality and report defects or concerns. Installation Assist with the delivery and installation of countertops at customer locations. Safely handle, transport, and position countertop materials during installation. Ensure installations meet company quality standards and customer expectations. Use hand and power tools to complete installation tasks. Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous customer service while on job sites. Follow all safety procedures when working in residential, commercial, and construction environments. General Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Participate in training and development opportunities. Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fabrication and installation techniques. Ability to operate or learn to operate CNC equipment and shop machinery. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
Combination of fabrication shop and customer job-site environments. Exposure to machinery, power tools, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Regular local travel to customer locations and construction sites.
