Summary:
The floor RSA's primary job description is to engage with clients in order to help them reach their individual goals of wellness and recovery. The RSA will monitor and assist clients on their assigned floor and aid in the growth of their independent living skills. The floor RSA should also have a basic knowledge of healthcare daily functions to be performed and monitored. 7:00am-3:30pm 3:00pm-11:30pm 11:00am-7:30pm
Qualifications:
Must have all of the following: HS Diploma or Equivalent Ability to read, write and speak English Training, as prescribed by the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Mental Health, prior to assuming the duties of this position (or within the last 5 years) Free of a criminal background that is a Disqualifying Offense as defined by the
Illinois Department of Public Health Skills Required:
Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation and relational development Understanding of best practices in clinical mental health treatment and client care Ability to multitask and prioritize daily tasks Must be able to communicate with clients in a manner that supports recovery and wellness and proactively address client's questions and concerns
Essential Duties:
Complete rounds daily as assigned by the HSD/Nursing Conduct thorough room checks to ensure client wellness and cleanliness Assist clients with their daily hygiene tasks and independent living skills. Monitor and track clients progress of ADL's (activities of daily living) Provide primary care when needed, including emotional support Proactively address client's questions and concerns Conduct close monitoring of clients when the need arrives and is directed by the CNA supervisor, charge nurse, or HSD Process and pack client's belongings timely and respectfully when they are being transferred to a hospital or discharging. Take inventory of client's property and handle belongings with care. Accurately and timely report any abnormal behaviors or medical issues to the appropriate staff Complete documentation as assigned Any assigned duties under the direction of the staff nurse or supervisor Must attend scheduled
Clinical Supervision Lifting Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Requirements Essential To Perform The Job:
