If so, you may be the Plant Facilities Technician - Utilities and Infrastructure Paket needs. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and support a facilities-focused portfolio essential to production uptime. What you will do Inspect buildings and structures; identify malfunctioning systems; repair directly or coordinate qualified vendors.
Perform minor electrical work:
fixtures, wall switches, outlets, bulbs and tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords. Provide basic plumbing service:
fix leaks in drains and faucets; unclog drains and toilets. Handle light building trades:
painting, carpentry, masonry; prep surfaces; apply paints, stains, varnishes; hang doors; fit locks and handles. Service facilities equipment regularly to prevent breakdowns and avoid costly repairs that disrupt production. Operate and care for the low-pressure boiler system; troubleshoot as needed. Check and maintain air compressors and vacuum pumps. Maintain the fire compression system, including churn tests. Assist with enhancements to Paket's tank farm. Train team members on new or newly acquired equipment. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations. Record maintenance activities to ensure accurate equipment histories. Order parts and manage inventory, including metals stock and miscellaneous production-machine components. Communicate equipment issues and facilities best practices to management. Execute work across multiple trades:
electrical, plumbing, steam fitting, carpentry, electrical distribution, compressed air systems, HVAC, boiler, fabrication, grounds maintenance, communications, welding, and equipment installation. Operate saws, drill presses, and a range of hand and power tools; keep tools clean, safe, and in good repair. Respond to after-hours calls and support emergency work when required. Knowledge of safety procedures and precautions; technical understanding within your specialty areas. Proper storage of equipment, materials, and supplies; excellent record-keeping habits. Commitment to Federal, State, and local building codes and regulations, including the Illinois Fire Code. How you operate Perform diverse maintenance and repair work across Paket facilities and equipment with minimal direction. Hit deadlines and maintain routine records. Operate Paket powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts and scissor lifts; perform physical labor comfortably. Physical expectations Alternate between standing, sitting, and walking throughout the day. Communicate effectively. Use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. Bend, squat, crawl, kneel, lift, climb, and reach as tasks require. Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds.
