at Midwest Industrial Rubber Inc. in Franklin Park, Illinois, United States Job Description The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsibility for facility maintenance including preventive maintenance, machine repair, tool repair and maintenance of the general facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists and work sheets. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Identify spare and replacement parts, and find where to purchase parts. Knowledge and Skills Requirements Certificate or credential in a specialized field or trade, i.e. electrical, mechanical and one or more functional areas (Welding, Precision Machining, Machine Repair, Fabrication, Arc Flash) or demonstrates competency in a specialized area Experience with CMMS Preferred High School Diploma/GED required plus Technical/Trade School or equivalent combination of work experience Prior manufacturing work experience in operating machinery and using various hand tools Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales, meters) Must be able to work in the US Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Repairing
