Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on high-speed manufacturing machinery to support a high volume plant. You will troubleshoot complex issues using blueprints and schematics, complete repairs with hand and power tools, and carry out preventative maintenance to keep a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed manufacturing equipment Troubleshoot equipment issues using blueprints Carry out preventative maintenance tasks such as oiling, lubricating, and greasing machine parts Use hand and power tools, including volt meters and other electrical testing instruments Support general building maintenance needs as they arise to ensure the facility remains safe, functional, and well maintained. Essential Skills Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and related systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Hands-on experience working with printing presses or similar high-speed manufacturing equipment. Proficiency using hand and power tools, including volt meters and electrical testing tools, in a maintenance environment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to root cause and implement effective corrective actions. Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment or systems. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a brand-new, very clean, and well-organized facility with extensive open space and modern high-speed machinery. The standard second shift (approximately 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.). The maintenance team is expected to work overtime and often on Saturdays, especially as production ramps up. Personal protective equipment is provided, and you must be comfortable wearing items such as a hard hat and safety vest while working on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
