(TITLE 32), WL-5801-10, you will serve as a working leader of three or more Surface Maintenance Mechanics, WG-5801-10. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Assign work orders to specific crewmembers and select workers for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Pass on to workers instructions received from the supervisor, demonstres proper work methods, and starts work. Insure th needed plans, blueprints, merial, and tools are available, and th needed stock is obtained from supply locions. Assure th there is enough work to keep the work crew busy. Troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, comb, tactical and automotive vehicles. Make repairs to assemblies and components such as voltage regulors, generors/alternors, brake cylinders, etc. Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, and computer diagnostic tools. Utilize embedded diagnostics in equipment and a wide variety of original equipment manufacturer system analyzers in order to determine the exact nure or extent of repair. Determine wh adjustments may be necessary to complete work orders, and whether any additional repairs other than those specified or indiced on the work order are necessary. : WL-10 Level MUST possess, in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstres the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly reled the repair function of this occupional series; ability to perform administrive functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publicions used in the repair of supported equipment; ability to provide guidance to others in work reled directly to this occupional series. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
