General Maintenance Technician

Position Overview We are seeking a dependable weekend General Maintenance Technician to support facility operations at a high‑volume distribution center. This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the building and systems remain safe, functional, and compliant. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, safety‑focused, and comfortable working independently during weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including lighting, plumbing, doors, docks, and general facility infrastructure Conduct inspections of equipment and work areas to identify potential issues before they become operational problems Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or structural concerns Support upkeep of conveyors, racking, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (non‑specialized repairs) Complete work orders accurately and document all repairs and inspections Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and facility guidelines Collaborate with operations and maintenance leadership to prioritize weekend tasks Qualifications Previous experience in general maintenance, facility repair, or a related trade Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods Willingness to work weekend‑only shifts consistently Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Minooka, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.45 - $30.45/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
