Chief Engineer / Maintenance Manager Job Summary The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the hotel. This role involves performing routine maintenance, responding to repair requests, and completing daily inspections using a mobile phone or digital maintenance system to ensure all hotel areas meet operational and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using a smartphone or mobile maintenance application Document inspection results, maintenance tasks, and repairs digitally via phone or tablet Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and basic appliance repair Identify and report potential safety hazards or equipment failures Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and costly repairs Maintain hotel equipment, tools, and maintenance storage areas in an organized and safe condition Coordinate with housekeeping and front desk staff to prioritize repairs Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety regulations, and local building codes Assist with emergency maintenance situations as needed Qualifications & Skills Previous maintenance experience in a hotel, apartment complex, or similar environment preferred General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems Comfortable using a smartphone to complete inspections, submit reports, and track work orders Ability to follow digital checklists and communicate updates via mobile apps or messaging Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Good communication and customer service skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Schedule Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage / salary Benefits package including [health insurance, PTO, 401(k), etc.]IHG Employee Rates Job Type:
