Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift Meyer Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. - Oak Lawn, IL Meyer Tool & Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking an experienced, independent, and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our first-shift team. Our work includes the design and fabrication of cryogenic, vacuum, and pressure systems for national laboratories, research institutions, and advanced commercial applications. Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for leading and executing all equipment, facility, and preventative maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Key Responsibilities Report to the Production Supervisor and coordinate daily maintenance priorities Direct and support overall Maintenance Department activities Develop, implement, and manage the company's Preventative Maintenance Program including maintaining the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, manual equipment, welding equipment, and support systems Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagnostics and repairs Schedule maintenance activities with department supervisors to minimize downtime Overhaul, install, and commission new equipment Perform general building and grounds maintenance Coordinate work with outside contractors and service providers Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas Follow all safety policies and demonstrate proper PPE use Support continuous improvement and perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills Experience repairing manual and CNC machine tools Electrical experience a plus Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals Basic computer skills Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment Fluent in spoken and written English Learn more about us at: www.mtm-inc.com

Pay:

$28.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Experience:

Preventative Maintenance :

5 years (Required) reading schematics and equipment manuals: 5 years (Required) Maintenance in a manufacturing

Environment:

5 years (Required) working with a CMMS system: 2 years (Preferred)
