Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs complex production equipment, including CNC machinery and PLC-controlled systems. This role focuses on diagnosing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting equipment installations and continuous improvement initiatives in a modern, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Responsibilities Read and interpret electrical schematics ranging from low voltage to 480V, 3-phase power. Understand and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, assembly instructions, troubleshooting guides, and internal and vendor resources to research and resolve machine problems. Independently troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including CNC equipment and PLCs. Use various electrical testing devices and programming equipment to perform general and advanced electrical repairs. Perform troubleshooting and repairs on CNC machines, including motors, drives, and control systems. Conduct preventive maintenance on industrial machinery to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Support equipment installations and removals, ensuring proper setup, alignment, and operation. Assist in requisitioning spare and repair parts to maintain appropriate inventory levels and minimize machine downtime. Accurately document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage in a computerized maintenance management system. Effectively communicate with production supervisors and other team members regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and maintenance needs. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with team members in problem-solving meetings to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency. Apply proper Lockout/Tagout techniques to ensure safety during maintenance and repair activities. Essential Skills 4-5+ years of CNC maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, including low voltage and up to 480V, 3-phase systems. Strong experience with electrical maintenance and electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment. Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting of production machinery. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, including reading hydraulic schematics and troubleshooting hydraulic components. Knowledge of pneumatic systems, including reading pneumatic schematics and troubleshooting pneumatic components. Experience with CNC maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing CNC mills and lathes. Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial environment. Ability to use electrical testing devices and programming equipment for diagnostics and repairs. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial motors and related control components. Experience performing maintenance repair and machine repair in a production setting. Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and scheduling. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation. Experience working with industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase power. Demonstrated use of Lockout/Tagout safety procedures. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
