Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our company and support our St. Joseph, Illinois location. As the Maintenance Mechanic for Corteva Agriscience, you'll support plant operations by performing corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and uptime. It includes rapid troubleshooting to resolve equipment issues quickly and keep the facility on track to meet production goals. Responsibilities also include managing assets and documentation in the
EAM/CMMS
system, coordinating planned work and parts, improving PM plans, applying condition-based monitoring, and supporting reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. The role upholds strict safety and compliance standards, collaborates with operations and contractors, supports audits, and completes additional facility and maintenance duties as needed. VISA Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. This role will be on-site at the Corteva location.
What You'll Do:
  • Ensure all work meets Corteva safety standards by leading safe practices, driving risk reduction efforts, supporting incident investigations
  • Support plant operations through corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Create, modify and close work orders in CMMS along with ensuring accurate documentation of labor and parts allocation
  • Provide maintenance support for capital projects while working with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, effective execution and strong communication across shifts and departments
  • Maintain the condition of the plant shop and maintenance tools
  • Lead, assist and complete grounds and facility maintenance as needed
  • Utilize predictive maintenance tools to identify emerging equipment issues and develop, update, and train others on effective preventive maintenance plans
  • Complete fabrication projects that enhance plant processes and improve safety
  • Assist in maintaining detailed equipment records and prints
  • Plans and leads project work as needed, working with Operations to ensure maintenance activities are completed without interrupting production
  • Maintain Enterprise Asset Management system: ensure work order quality, PM plans, and provide user training/support, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education:
  • High school diploma/GED.
What Skills You Need:
  • Holds a valid US driver's license
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Possess basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn, understand, and apply mechanical concepts
  • Demonstrates problem solving, teamwork and communication skills
Physical Job Requirements:
  • Stand and sit for extended periods
  • Work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
  • Lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Perform work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
  • Exposure to dust and plant allergens including but not limited to corn, sunflower, cotton, and canola pollen and protein and sorghum as well as potential mold spores and/or chemicals in the course of your duties Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
What Makes You Stand Out:
  • You have a good understanding of maintaining/repairing, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical power transmission systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication work
  • Millwright and welding skills, especially relevant to the seed industry
  • Experience with Power Industrial Equipment (including, forklift, aerial lifts, tractors, telehandler, etc.)
  • Basic process controls understanding
  • 2-3 years of industrial maintenance experience Benefits -

The salary range for this position is $51,741.00 to $64,500.00. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus.
