POSITION DESCRIPTION
Hunter Properties is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our apartment communities. This role is responsible for completing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure buildings, grounds, and common areas remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who can work independently, follow established procedures, and observe all health and safety guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete resident work orders in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs, including but not limited to: o Plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs. o HVAC troubleshooting and basic repairs consistent with certification and training. o Drywall repair, painting, and carpentry. o Appliance repair, installation, and replacement.
  • Assist with apartment turns, including preparing vacant units for new residents.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of common areas, hallways, and exterior grounds.
  • Assist with seasonal responsibilities, including snow removal and salting.
  • Follow all safety standards, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times.
  • Communicate clearly with the Maintenance Supervisor and Leasing Office staff regarding work order status and property needs.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues when scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support property operations.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience as a maintenance technician or in a related field is preferred. Skills & Competencies
  • Working knowledge of general maintenance processes and repair methods.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, appliances, and basic building systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and follow established procedures.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
License/Certification:
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • HVAC Certification (Preferred)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
    Job Type:
    Full-time
    • Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
