Maintenance Technician Supervisors Maintenance TechniciansPOSITION DESCRIPTION
Hunter Properties is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our apartment communities. This role is responsible for completing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure buildings, grounds, and common areas remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who can work independently, follow established procedures, and observe all health and safety guidelines.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete resident work orders in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs, including but not limited to: o Plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs. o HVAC troubleshooting and basic repairs consistent with certification and training. o Drywall repair, painting, and carpentry. o Appliance repair, installation, and replacement.
- Assist with apartment turns, including preparing vacant units for new residents.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of common areas, hallways, and exterior grounds.
- Assist with seasonal responsibilities, including snow removal and salting.
- Follow all safety standards, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate clearly with the Maintenance Supervisor and Leasing Office staff regarding work order status and property needs.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues when scheduled.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support property operations.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience as a maintenance technician or in a related field is preferred. Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of general maintenance processes and repair methods.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools, appliances, and basic building systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow established procedures.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- HVAC Certification (Preferred)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
Job Type:
Full-time- Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
