Job Description

I ndiana Flame Service is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our division in Gary, IN . The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all "preventive" maintenance and "preventive" inspections, greasing, lubrication and emergency repairs of all plant electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components of Caster #1 -Slitting site. Maintains all facilities, buildings and mobile equipment. Student Loan Repayment Program Employee Referral Program Responsibilities The Maintenance Technician:
Carries out routine inspections of all equipment and lubricants and repairs as necessary. Identifies problem areas and notifies shift foreman and maintenance manager so that corrective action can be taken during weekly maintenance downturn. Sets work priorities in conjunction with Maintenance foreman and maintenance manager so as to maximize plant availability. Performs maintenance activities under the direction of the Maintenance foreman/ maintenance manager. Keeps accurate records of repairs carried out or required maintenance issues. Advises maintenance manager of parts consumed or repaired. Orders any and all parts consumed and needed by requisition form. Re-build/repair any and all equipment removed from service. Carries out repairs of equipment removed from key components such as; scarfing torches, hydraulic pumps, cylinders. Carries out good housekeeping so that, work areas, all equipment, all hydraulic/electrical systems and plant facility are clean. Environmental cleanup and awareness. Skills The ideal candidate will have: Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical and electrical components on machinery Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical/hydraulic schematics. Completely conversant in safety procedures for working with electrical/mechanical and hydraulic equipment A minimum of 1 year of experience Knowledge of DC operated cranes essential nice to have #IND2
