Job Description

Are You the One Who Keeps the Line Running?
Picture this:
a conveyor slows unexpectedly. Do you think hydraulics, air supply, or a power transmission misalignment? If that question energizes you, step into a Plant Maintenance Mechanic role where your decisions keep a world-scale steel operation on track. Your Mission Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems—hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission—plus conveyors, cranes, and related mobile equipment. Use standard and specialty tools and operate pendant-controlled/overhead cranes and forklifts to complete precision maintenance. Jump in to assist production operations when needed to protect throughput. Handle tasks at elevation and, when required, in confined spaces while adhering to strict safety practices. Shift between solo assignments and team efforts with other maintenance technicians. Navigate multiple plant zones where conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy. What It Takes High School Diploma or GED. Pass required assessment test(s). Minimum 1 year of manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent education.
Relevant exposure could include:
hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, power transmission systems, welding, pipefitting, structural repair, or diesel mechanic (military experience counts). Commitment to safety at all times, including wearing required
PPE:
hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and boots with metatarsal protection. How You'll Work 8-hour rotating shifts that include weekends and holidays. Overtime as needed based on production demands. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and self-motivation are non-negotiable.
