Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving production equipment and facility systems in a specialty chemical manufacturing environment. This role supports safe and efficient plant operations through preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives while minimizing downtime and maintaining production schedules. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, process equipment, and facility systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures to identify root causes and restore equipment to operation. Dismantle machinery and replace defective components including motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, valves, conveyors, belts, chains, and related equipment. Inspect equipment and operating systems to detect malfunctions and determine corrective actions. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical documentation. Perform equipment installations, modifications, and repairs to support plant operations and continuous improvement projects. Utilize hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment to complete maintenance activities. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation. Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and recommend replacement parts as needed. Work closely with production personnel to identify equipment issues and improve machine reliability. Train operators on basic equipment care and routine preventive maintenance procedures. Ensure compliance with all safety policies, environmental regulations, and plant procedures. Support emergency breakdown repairs and participate in scheduled maintenance shutdown activities. Maintain a clean and organized work area while promoting a safe working environment.
