Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Deck Builder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and installing durable, high-quality decks that enhance outdoor living spaces. Your expertise will contribute to creating beautiful, functional decks that meet client specifications and adhere to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential homes to commercial properties, utilizing your craftsmanship and construction knowledge to deliver exceptional results. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately plan deck layouts and framing. Construct decks using a variety of hand tools and power tools, ensuring precision and safety throughout each phase. Erect metal building frameworks and install structural components such as beams, posts, joists, and supports with expertise in metal stud framing. Perform concrete forming and finishing for foundational elements of deck structures when necessary. Install rebar reinforcement within concrete bases to ensure stability and durability of the deck foundation. Execute masonry tasks including stucco or siding application when required for aesthetic or structural purposes. Operate heavy equipment safely for site preparation, material handling, or demolition activities. Manage construction site activities efficiently, coordinating with team members and project managers to meet deadlines. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications while maintaining a clean work environment. Assist in remodeling or restoration projects that involve deck structures or related exterior features. Skills Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on deck building or related carpentry disciplines. Strong knowledge of metal building erection, roofing, siding, trim carpentry, and framing techniques. Skilled in concrete forming, finishing, rebar installation, and masonry work including stucco applications. Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise builds. Ability to operate hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills; power tools including nail guns and grinders; heavy equipment; and scaffolding safely. Expertise in metal stud framing and working with various materials like woodworking and plastering components. Experience with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required for construction projects. Knowledge of construction management practices to coordinate tasks efficiently on-site. Familiarity with schematics for electrical or plumbing systems related to exterior structures is a plus. Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently when needed while maintaining attention to detail.
