Maintenance Technician

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Lafayette Venetian Blind, a locally owned manufacturer of custom window treatments, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician. This position will assist in all aspects of the industry including but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, Strong HVAC understanding, general construction, Welding/ fabrication, and production improvement. We are looking for a qualified individual with the experience to meet the needs of our 300,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Specifically we are looking for an individual with an understanding or proficiency in the following areas.

General:

1. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. 2. General knowledge and ability to facilitate appropriate construction practices 3. Self-motivated, organized, possessing good mathematical skills 4. Quick learner in a diverse field which requires creative solutions to complicated issues. 5. Strong problem solving skills 6. Strong knowledge and understanding of multi-discipline tool needs as well as an ability to use them. 7. Fostering team oriented skill sets, sharing knowledge to develop a single minded approach to repair and maintenance. 8. General vehicle maintenance; forklifts, cars, mowers, and cars. Knowledge of internal combustion engines and other equipment.

Electrical:

1. General knowledge of both AC + DC power systems and how to diagnose and repair problems 2. Industrial lighting and control 3. Programming/troubleshooting of PLC operated equipment 4. Strong sense of safety for oneself and others

Plumbing:

1. General knowledge of plumbing principles and an ability to facilitate in practice with regard to local codes 2. Knowledge of air systems and pipe installation as well as tools to do so. 3. Able to troubleshoot, repair issues which arise in an industrial atmosphere in kitchenettes, bathrooms, wash sinks, general and main plumbing areas for distilled water, hot and cold water systems. 4. Understanding of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Ice machines.

Construction:

1. General knowledge working with drywall, painting, carpet installation, and existing construction repair. 2. Exterior Maintenance of building including roof leak repair and HVAC maintenance.

Physical requirements:

1. Ability to stand on feet a large portion of the day, significant walking and lifting required up to 70#. 2. Ability to climb ladders and work in areas above the ground. 3.
