OVERVIEW

The Floor Technician is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall appearance of flooring surfaces within Mission Hills Country Club, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Floor Maintenance:

Maintain and care for all types of flooring, including carpet, tile, hardwood, and vinyl surfaces. Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and waxing floors. Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, extractors, and scrubbers. Identify and report any flooring damage or necessary repairs to the Executive Housekeeper.

Cleaning & Safety Compliance:

Ensure proper use of cleaning solutions and chemicals, following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines. Respond to special cleaning requests and emergency spills promptly. Follow all club safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

Operational Support:

Assist in moving furniture and equipment for event set up and cleaning purposes. Maintain inventory of floor care supplies and report needs for replenishment. Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined in this position description, employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor. These duties will be within the scope of the employee's position and will align with the needs of the Club. The assignment of additional tasks ensures operational efficiency and supports the overall goals of the department. Employees are expected to be flexible and adaptable in fulfilling these responsibilities as directed.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Previous experience in floor maintenance, janitorial work or related field preferred. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.

COMPETENCIES

Ability to operate and maintain cleaning machines and tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
