The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of building systems and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply mechanical, electrical, and technical expertise in a fast-paced environment, supporting the seamless operation of our facilities. The Facility Technician will also oversee routine maintenance tasks, supervise junior staff when necessary, and utilize industry-standard tools and software to document work processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems using schematics and technical manuals Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor and control building automation systems Conduct welding repairs and electrical troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment Maintain facility infrastructure through residential painting, carpentry, and general repairs Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance history Supervise maintenance staff or contractors on specific projects ensuring safety protocols are followed Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues Support manufacturing or industrial operations by ensuring machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently Assist with facilities upgrades or renovations while adhering to safety standards Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 6:30a-3:30p $25-$28 Please note, this role will require secondary interview. For more questions, please call our office 913-268-1222. Experience The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing or industrial environments. Proven supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical expertise, including familiarity with schematics and programmable logic controllers. Experience with welding techniques, residential painting, and general maintenance tasks is essential. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, along with a solid understanding of CMMS software, will be advantageous.
Required skills include:
Several years of hands-on experience in facilities or industrial maintenance roles Strong electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot wiring issues effectively Mechanical knowledge applicable to machinery repair and preventative care Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting purposes Supervising experience overseeing maintenance teams or projects Competence in using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate tasks efficiently If you are a proactive professional with a passion for maintaining high standards of facility operations through technical expertise and leadership, we encourage you to apply today.
